Sweet Anthem is a perfumery based in Seattle, WA run by designer Meredith Tucker. The perfumes offered on this site contain luxurious essential and fragrance oils. They are diluted in jojoba or evening primrose oil which provide a silky texture on the skin. This formulation helps create a long-lasting, divine fragrance experience.

With each new perfume, Meredith creates tributes to women that she admires; be they fictional, famous, or just some of her close friends. You may recognize some of them. Others you might not. Regardless, they are each deserved of a fragrance of their own. Why must such prestige be reserved for supermodels and celebrities?

Smell nice and feel good, too

Unlike mass-produced, commercial perfumes, Sweet Anthem creates perfume oils using 80-85% concentration rates and dilutes most of the perfumes in jojoba, evening primrose, or pomegranate oil. This formulation creates a silky texture, a long-lasting fragrance, and a skin-safe perfume experience. The chemical-free nature of the perfume base provides a skin-safe experience. Plus, we buy our supplies from Pacific Northwest and West Coast raw material and aroma chemical providers whenever possible!

For any other questions about the contents of these perfumes, please contact Meredith. Most other answers can be found in the FAQ.

Meredith Tucker is a mid-twenties Seattlite who discovered she had a penchant for perfumes after becoming obsessed with a few independent perfumers back in 2005. Though by day she is a web developer & graphic designer, she spends her evenings in her studio, pouring over concoctions and dreaming up new chords to strike. She is largely self-taught, but hangs on the words of perfumers like Mandy Aftel and reviewers like Luca Turin. She continues to be inspired by perfumers like Christopher Brosius and companies like Pacifica. When not brewing and creating, she spends time with her software developer boyfriend whom she met at the Penny Arcade Expo in 2007. (They're geeks, you see.) Lastly, she hails originally from Texas, can kick your ass in Mario Kart, and will school you in the ways of anything independent.

About this site

Sweet Anthem as an entity has been around since 2001. In the beginning, the company published and distributed chapbooks & zines. In mid-2007, Sweet Anthem Handmade Perfumes officially launched its Etsy presence. In late 2008, it became clear that Meredith wanted more control over the content, experience, & branding, and this little website was born.

All photographs were taken by Angel Ceballos unless otherwise noted. The pixel portrait on this page was illustrated by R Stevens, who draws Diesel Sweeties, one of the best web comics ever.

At the moment, Meredith is looking for new web design contracts. To see what skills she might be able to provide, visit her portfolio.
