Sweet Anthem Handmade Perfumes

Frequently Asked Questions

What base do you use in your perfumes?

Sweet Anthem uses a blend of jojoba and evening primrose oil for most perfumes, with the occasional inclusion of pomegranate oil. Jojoba oil itself is actually a liquid wax, which is the real secret ingredient behind the silky texture in these perfumes. You can read more about jojoba oil at Wikipedia.

What sizes of your perfumes are available?

On this site you can purchase 2ml travel sized vials, 3ml solids, and 5ml amber apothecary bottles.

So... when can I expect my order?

All orders are being processed 1-2 weeks out from receipt of payment. To inquire about the status of your order or to update your shipping address, contact sweetanthem@gmail.com. Additionally, if you have your Paypal notifications turned on, selected Priority shipping, and are a domestic customer, you should receive an e-mail notification via Paypal. We try our best to send notifications when your order is shipped.

How much is shipping?

Please check the following rates as shipping charges have recently changed. Shipping is calculated by your order subtotal. Shipping is standard across domestic and international. All shipping totals include delivery confirmation for domestic orders.

Priority (aka Global Priority)

If you order Priority shipping (global or domestic), your package will be treated as such during our weekly shipping rounds. On occasions where stock is an issue, a Standard package might be deferred to the following shipping day where a Priority package might make its way out the door. Priority shipping is a form of insurance to get your package out the door in the next round possible.

When and where do you ship?

We ship most everywhere in the world and attempt for 1-2 weeks out from receipt of payment. If there is a problem with shipping to your country or your address, we will contact you immediately after your purchase has been received to negotiate shipping means. We ship via USPS Priority Mail. If our turnaround times should increase for any reason since the time of your purchase, we will notify you by e-mail of the delay. This can occasionally happen during the holidays, so please be patient! Feel free to contact us if you are worried or need a rush delivery.

Do I have to have a Paypal account to buy here?

No. You can use any major debit or credit card without needing a Paypal account, even though our shopping cart system is a Paypal API. To do so, simply click on the "continue without signing in" link at checkout. (Sorry, at this time, we cannot make exceptions.)

Can I sniff your perfumes in person?

Sweet Anthem is currently working on retail partners! Soon you'll find our perfumes in L.A.'s Reform School, and starting Thu, Feb 5, you can stop by Sweet Petula to sniff through Valentine's Day. We will also have our perfumes in stock at Show Pony in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood sometime in late February. More information about each is coming soon.

So... come here often?

We've recently received a lot of press and publicity. First of all, thank you to everyone who has linked to us! If we missed your shout out, we're sorry - we'd love to know about it! Second of all, please let us gloat by checking out our recent press.

I still have questions. How do I contact Sweet Anthem?

We would love to hear from you. Drop a line via email at sweetanthem@gmail.com or send a postcard to:

Sweet Anthem Handmade Perfumes LLC
c/o Meredith Tucker
1512 Summit Ave #306
Seattle, WA 98122 USA

If you need immediate web site assistance or help with your order, please simply e-mail us at the address above. Our customer service hours of operation are Mon-Thu from 8am-12pm, and Fridays from 10am-6pm.

(We have to limit these hours because really, this "we" that we tend to use is a little superficial and a lot of it this is just done by one woman! 90% of that one woman's other waking hours are spent brewing, bottling, designing, shipping, consolidating, accounting, marketing, talking, listening, maintaining, blogging, and, of course, sniffing. Bear with her if sometimes she is a little slow to respond, or seems a little tired!)

Is Meredith available for web design contracts?

No! Meredith is currently busy with this little perfume venture as well as a day job as a graphic designer via Filter Talent.
